New Week, New Perspective
It's week 8 now, and boy time has flown!
I'm still moving along studying the abdomen. Here are a few revelations I've had in the past few weeks.
1. Turns out, I'm a pretty gassy patient. It's become a pretty 'matter-of-fact' statement but apparently some students still take offense to it. I'm not offended at all because realistically most of the patients we will scan will be full of gas no matter how much they've prepared in fasting and such. So some girls are always scanning with their friends because they know they are clear scans. After that one friend scanned with me, she really freaked out at how hard of a scan I was. And so she returned to scan with her preferred clear bodies. After that, it made me realize that I want to scan with as many different people with as many levels of difficulties as possible. Because when scan exams come and they choose gassy people like me to scan, you'll need to be able to maneuver around it. Also I've realized scan lab is the most important class that deserves all my focus and time investment. This is the one class that will put you behind. I'm doing alright in my other classes, so I need to make sure I keep afloat in this class.
2. Going off of that, I had a scan exam already and I scored 80%. I'm not too unhappy with it, as I came out of it thinking of it as a learning experience. I did forget to interrogate, so that's on me. It's not about getting perfect grades, it's about learning as much as possible.
3. I think I've mentioned this before, but I'm not as competitive as I once was. I don't waste time burning the midnight oil to make sure I get 100% on all my assessments. Seriously 90%-100% is an A+. I forgot we had a class test and was kind of cramming the night before...but I had minimal studying to do because I study continually...and I came out with 97%. I'm not kicking myself for getting 1 question wrong.
4. Lastly, I've ended up in a pickle with my physics class. And as non-confrontational as I am, I went ahead to report my professor. This will probably a learning experience for me and maybe a lesson in confidence. We'll see how it turns out.
Anyways, back to midterms!
